AQUA-GEL STERILE HYDROGEL DRESSING

The AQUA-GEL hydrogel dressing is an aqueous composition of natural and synthetic polymers subjected to ionizing radiation, which cross-links the polymer chains and ensures sterility of the dressing. The functional form of the dressing is a transparent, flexible hydrogel sheet with a thickness of 4 mm.

Aqua-Gel is transparent, thanks to which it is possible to observe the healing process without having to remove it, this feature also allows to reduce the frequency of dressing changes. Due to its properties, Aqua-Gel will work as a secondary dressing in the case of drugs and preparations applied directly to the wound

The AQUA-GEL dressing is not recommended for wounds with a large amount of softening necrosis, with signs of infection, with a large amount of exudate, with purulent contents. In these situations, it is necessary to surgically debride the wound before starting treatment with AQUA-GEL, or to pre-apply highly absorbent dressings (Eclypse), dressings with Manuka honey, or Microdacyn®.

Application:

– 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns (thermal, chemical, electrical),

– Sun burns,

– sores,

– bedsores,

– other chronic wounds (e.g. diabetic foot),

– abrasions, bruises, swelling.

Properties of the Aqua-Gel dressing:

– maintains an optimal, moist environment on the wound surface, thanks to which epithelization processes are accelerated,

– has absorption properties; the secretion along with microorganisms is retained in the structure of the hydrogel,

– supports autolytic cleansing of the wound from dead tissues,

– shows good adhesion to the wound, but without the tendency to stick, thanks to which the dressing change is painless for the patient,

– supports autolytic cleansing of the wound from dead tissues,

– is a barrier to infection from the outside, at the same time it is permeable to gases,

– enables easy delivery of drugs by injecting the drug under the dressing or soaking the dressing in the drug solution before use,

– it is flexible and soft, but strong enough so that it can be used to cover difficult-to-treat body surfaces such as joints, hands or face,

– a transparent sheet of hydrogel allows observation of the wound,

– eliminates pain, giving the patient a feeling of soothing effect, does not cause allergies, is non-allergenic.
